"Spirit Siblings"
16 x 20
Acrylic on canvas with opaque paint marker

Photobucket

SOLD
This was made as gift for a close friend of mine. Of course I still haven't given it to her though. I really just wanted to play with few colours and a lot of movement so that's what I went for here. The contrast in happy and sad happens a lot in my work, it's like a choose your own adventure/emotion painting. The face atop looks like god(?) coming down to tell us all what he really thinks of us, how are you gonna act?

Just the happiest landscape. I plan on doing a lot more like this one but much much bigger. You haven't seen the last of these happy hills, not by a long shot. A few simple background patterns and just some easy bold colours. Simple but fun.. just like me. -____-

I probably had about 2 million ideas for this one before I really got into it but I'm quite pleased with the outcome. This looks like it would sit atop this family's mantle to forever remind them of their perfect day together. The pink and blue seem to work really well together and really help to push the red out even more. I also played with a bit of a darker blue colour in the background to help push everything forward and also fill some empty space.

"Familiar Waters"
18 x 24
Acrylic on canvas with opaque paint marker

Photobucket

SOLD
This is a painting of my cat Nathan. I feel like i really started to play with patterns and different little forms of repetition with this one. The Octopussy was originally supposed to be more purple in tribute to the great Ultros (FF3) but the color ended up way more grey and I just used purple highlights. I feel like he looks friendly.

There's an obvious Murakami influence on this one, I'm a fan of his work and I guess that shows here ha ha. I wanted to try something a little simpler but also with a little more lively and repetitive background. This one was actually a lot of fun and maybe ill try something just like it on a much larger scale soon. The background has a really nice red in it too that was almost accidental, i dont think this picture does it justice.

"Hell on Earf"
16 x 20
Acrylic on canvas with opaque paint marker

Photobucket

SOLD

This piece was a blast to do, it's not very big so it was a relatively quick one. Just a lot of bright color contrasts and a very dry drab background. My sister actually got this one from me so at least I know i have my family's support right? This one has everything to do with that scene at the end of Akira.

This was a quick one but i gotta admit i love how the figure came out. He lookin so craaaaaaazay. The best part of this one is the clean white background.
"I'm Disappointed in You"
33 x 48
Acrylic on wood with opaque paint markers

Photobucket

This one was a lot of fun but also kind of a pain because of the condition the wood was in. Theres a lot of watercolor being used in the background for this one which I think really gives it a nice feel. There's some fun movement on this one, and the stars all look sooo sad. The stars are all self portraits :*( . A friend has asked me to hold on to this one for her, I appreciate the thought its just too bad this thing weighs like 2 million pounds.

"A Case of the Mondays"
36 x 24
Acrylic on canvas with opaque paint markers

Photobucket

The colors on this one turned out really nice I think, its my favorite thing about this piece. I like to think the concerned looking green angel is kinda dealing with the shoulder angel/devil dilemna. The background has a decent amount of watercolor mixed in too to give it that kinda faded washy look. The peace-head guy hasn't stayed quite as constant as his evil best bud but maybe I'll bring him back one day. They look a little tombstone-esque in this one.
"Kingdom Comes"

This baby is one of the first times I got to work a little bigger then I normally did at the time, it's also still one of my favorites I've ever done. I actually used spray paint for the background and just painted from there, adding in last details or drawing with paint markers in the end. I actually finished this one but ended up coming back to it about 6 months later to draw all over it some more, I think it worked out for the best. I really like how the colors, movement and balance all work on this one.
"Sad Cats"
16 x 20
Acrylic on canvas with opaque paint marker

Photobucket

Max Green helped me name this one, he looked at it in my room and just said "sad cats" and that's when I knew i had struck naming gold. This was a lot of fun to just mess with the colors on the face, it shows about 10 little thumb print guys who you see often throughout my work, i like to think this one has an onimus feel to it, like "whatre those thumb guys gonna do???" "whys cat guy so sad???" I guess we'll never know.
"Cloudy With a Chance of Misery"

I did this one a while ago too, I was going for something a little more free flowing I guess. After I had finished the initial painting, I just took paint markers and drew in all over any empty looking space, to give it more of a defaced graffiti type feeling. it says "last of the gang to die" and "last of the gang alive" written across it. It really has nothing to do with Morissey though

Acrylic on canvas with opaque paint markers

SOLD
I did this one about a year and a half ago so i cant say i remember a whole lot about it. I remember it originally had a much more grey swirled background which i was pretty uncomfortable with at the time but now i think it was a lot more interesting. A friend bought this off of me and i still haven't gotten the chance to give it to her. I am a shit head.
